The role:
As our Chief Operations Officer, you will be the driving force behind ALP's operational excellence, shaping the very foundation of our growth and market leadership. You will architect and oversee all operational facets, from intricate supply chain dynamics to seamless execution in both retail and online channels. This pivotal role directly impacts our ability to deliver on our promise of quality and innovation, ensuring ALP not only meets but anticipates demand, solidifying our position as a leader in the nicotine pouch industry. Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive operations planning and strategies, ensuring alignment with ALP's rapid growth objectives across all sales channels (retail and online).
- Implement robust demand forecasting methodologies and inventory management systems to optimize product availability and minimize waste, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Drive strategic procurement and vendor relationship management to secure high-quality raw materials and efficient manufacturing partnerships, optimizing cost and supply chain resilience.
- Champion operational efficiency initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement across all operational processes, from production to distribution.
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards, ensuring product consistency and compliance with all relevant industry regulations and consumer safety guidelines.
- Develop and implement proactive risk management strategies to mitigate operational disruptions, supply chain vulnerabilities, and unforeseen challenges.
- Ensure absolute compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertinent to the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of nicotine products in the US.
- Oversee the effective scaling of operational infrastructure and technology to support exponential company growth and market expansion.
- Oversee weekly meetings with the ALP management team, develop business strategic plans, oversee business planning and corporate strategy.
- Oversee Team building and new hiring processes.
Qualifications & skills:
- Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior operations leadership role (e.g., Director / VP of Operations, COO) within a fast-paced consumer goods or CPG company, ideally with experience in regulated industries.
- Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end supply chain management, including manufacturing, logistics, distribution, and procurement.
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of utilizing data for demand forecasting, operational optimization, and strategic decision-making.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and manage high-performing operational teams in a remote environment.
- Deep understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks relevant to consumer goods, particularly within the nicotine or tobacco industry.
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a strong bias for action, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Expertise and proficiency with BI, Excel, Powerpoint.
- Expertise in Consumer Data analysis.
- Experience in retail CPG sales.
