The role:
As our Head of Sales, you will be the visionary architect and driving force behind ALP's aggressive market penetration and revenue growth. You will lead, inspire, and empower our sales team, crafting and executing an ambitious, multi-channel sales strategy with clear, measurable goals for both retail and wholesale expansion. This pivotal role is directly responsible for identifying new market opportunities, cultivating key partnerships, and ultimately ensuring ALP's dominant commercial growth and expansive company presence, cementing our brand as the leader in the nicotine pouch industry. Your strategic acumen and relentless pursuit of sales excellence will directly fuel our mission to provide a better nicotine experience to consumers nationwide.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-channel sales strategy with ambitious and measurable goals for both retail and wholesale distribution channels, driving significant market share growth.
- Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and exceeding targets.
- Identify, pursue, and secure strategic partnerships with key retailers, distributors, and other wholesale accounts to maximize product placement and market reach.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and consumer insights to identify new sales opportunities and adapt strategies for optimal performance.
- Establish and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics, providing regular reporting and insights to leadership.
- Oversee the development and implementation of effective sales pitches, promotional programs, and marketing collaborations to support sales objectives.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, and product development teams to ensure seamless product launches and consistent brand messaging.
- Negotiate complex contracts and agreements with key accounts, ensuring favorable terms that support company profitability and long-term relationships.
- Implement and optimize CRM systems and sales technologies to enhance sales efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications & skills:
- Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior sales leadership role (e.g., Head of Sales, Sales Director, VP of Sales) within a fast-growing consumer goods or CPG company.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving aggressive sales growth targets in both retail and wholesale channels.
- Strong understanding and experience with multi-channel sales strategy development and execution.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and motivate high-performing sales teams remotely.
- Deep analytical skills, proficient in using sales data to identify trends, optimize strategies, and make informed business decisions.
- Adaptability and resilience, thriving in a fast-paced, startup environment with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results.
- Ability to build decks in Powerpoint. Proficiency with Excel.
- Experience with MSAi.
- Experience within the CPG industry preferred.
